It's been a while since I've updated the blog. The main reason is because every time I would start to write or even just visit I would get depressed. I went through a rough bout of postpartum depression. I think that it's slowly starting to disappear and I'm ready to start writing again.
Today Haley is 3 months old. These 3 months have went by so fast. She has very good head control now and is our little troublemaker. She sleeps through the night and drinks ba ba's like there is no tomorrow. She's still our little princess no doubt.
She'll celebrate her first Thanksgiving coming up this Thursday and then her first Christmas very soon. We haven't thought about what were going to get her yet.
We switched her pediatrician to Dr. Meyers' - partly because she was closer.
We had a scare when she was just a few weeks old. She woke up screaming and when I picked her up her eyes rolled back and she quit breathing on me. I don't handle pressure well and we called 911. The paramedics got here and she was acting like nothing ever happened. She's a little booger. Apparently during the night she got really stopped up and I didn't know babies can not breathe through their mouths and just through their noses. So we took her to the ER and everything checked out fine. Just first time parents being worried.
She got her first set of shots and did well for them. She was so funny because they had to give her a liquid vaccine and every time the nurse went to put the liquid in her mouth she'd smile and the nurse couldn't get it in. She did well for about 2 hours after the shots and then ran a horrible fever.
I'm adding some more recent pictures of her.

Haley went for her visit to church on Sunday, August 25, 2011. Below is a picture of her all dressed up. Look at those big feet. I'm sure she's going to have feet just like her daddy. ;-)
Her grandma also got a picture of her smiling in her sleep after a long day. Smiling because she has gas, because she's dreaming of daddy, or because she loves her mommy? ;) We will never know...
Her great granddaddy bought her a baby scale today because he thinks her legs are too skinny. When she was born she weighed 7lbs 2oz. The day she left the hospital she weighed 6lbs 12 1/2 oz. and at her doctor appointment four days later she weighed 6lbs 8oz. Then when she was weighed today she weighed 6lbs 4 1/2 oz. :( This does honestly worry me so I am going to bring it up at her appointment on Wednesday. She eats like a champ though so I'm not sure what's going on. I hope it's nothing serious and she begins to gain weight soon.

Haley had her first "shopping experience" this afternoon. I am regretting not taking pictures but she slept through most of the trip. ;) We took her to buybuy baby because we became aware that she needed a clothes hamper so we could keep her clothes separate from ours for when we wash them.
While we were there her daddy spotted Atlanta Falcons onesies. Those were not passed up. We bought a two pack and her daddy also picked her out a pink bow and a white bow for her and I picked out a HUGE pink bow that I know she will look gorgeous in.
She also encountered her first trip to church as Jamie's brother-in-law, Robert, was having a get together for his Sunday school class. She slept the whole time but that didn't keep her aunt Jessica from holding her the majority of the time. Love at first sight? I think so. :)
I told Jamie, her daddy, today that it seemed like it took forever to conceive her, forever for her to get here, and today she is one week and one day old and that time has passed by so fast.
Although I am anxious to go back to work, I can not imagine leaving her. I came down with the baby blues pretty bad the past couple of days thinking of her growing up, how she will no longer be dependent on us, and now I am getting weepy once again just writing about it so I figure I should stop.

Before I begin to document Haley's every day events, I wanted to do recap for everyone of her first seven days here with us to keep not only myself but everyone else on track.
Haley Marie entered this world on August 19th, 2011 at 11:30 p.m. weighing 7lbs 2oz and 21 inches long. The first faces she encountered were her mamas, her daddies, her grandmas, and both of her aunts.
She stayed in the hospital until August 21st, 2011 at 6:15 p.m. when we came home. Her first stop was her grandmas house so she could meet her new grandpa and her new cousins. Everyone adored her. How could you not?
Her first night home was fantastic. She slept through the night and absolutely loves her cradle swing that her cousin Wendy bought her.
The nights after that were a little tougher. Her sleep scheduled changed to where she decided to sleep through the day but not at night leaving me very tired but, that is fine because she is worth every second and I would not change one second that I spend with her.
On August 24, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. she went to her first doctor appointment with Dr. Nesbit where we were informed that she was perfect. I didn't need a doctor to tell me that, I already knew. She is a gift from above, God created her just for us.
We are excited to share her story with everyone and we are excited about the journey that is ahead.
She's our little gift from God.

Welcome to the world sweet Haley Marie
I remember I thought you looked like an angel
Wrapped in pink, so soft and warm
You've had me wrapped around your finger
Since the day you were born
You beautiful baby from the outside in
Chase your dreams but always know the road
That'll lead you home again
Go on take on this whole world
But to me, you'll always be my little girl.
"A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world." - John 16:21
I never knew how two little hands grabbing onto your index finger could turn your world around. I never realized how two little eyes looking up at you could turn your whole world around. That was until I was introduced to my daughter. Haley Marie entered the world on August 19th, 2011 at 11:30 p.m weighing 7lbs 2oz and 21 inches long.
I could go into details on how hard labor was, how rough delivery was, and how I am exhausted but I would rather focus on all of the positive things she has blessed my life with.
Her little smile, her little hands, everything about her can brighten up a room. I may seem biased because I am her mother but I can honestly say I have never seen such a beautiful child. A child that can take someone who has always had a hard time accepting love feel so open to every possibility of love.
I'm hoping this blog will allow friends and family to see how Haley grows and prospers. In the mean time, we'll be busy raising Haley. <3
